BRO this is absolutely INSANE pricing for a FN SCAR.

The biggest knock on the SCAR is always just the price, so the fact these are getting clearanced out below dealer cost means you wanna MOVE on this.

alnk.to/2jN0HZfImage Guns are either funded in-house, or paid for by contracts, and the US Gov basically paid for FN to design the SCAR.

It has some issues due to "design by committee" and in the mid aughts modularity was huge. They wanted a "universal receiver" type rifle

weaponoutfitters.com/eotech-hologra…

Got a big resupply on Eotech Holographic Weapon Sights.

Holographic sights have better parallax, better light transmission, and are a lot better with magnifiers. In practical use, they give users a lot better speed AND accuracy, with generous FOV The only downside to Eotech HWS is that they have shorter battery life.

I mitigate this by only using the quick detach capable models and/or always having iron sights (just in case), but the sights let you know when batteries are down to the last 25%

I went to talk to Photonis Defense today and man, I am pretty sold on their technology. L3 tubes will have crazy high specs, but a lot of that is wasted with 1X head borne NODs.

For folks who aren’t getting supplied by S4, 2000+ FOM tubes at a fraction the cost is compelling. One demo in a dark room, there was a “blind taste test” with Photonis and L3. Double blind even, since I didn’t know it was gonna be a comparative test.

Anyone who says they can see difference between a 2500 FOM and 2200 FOM tube in a 1x bino or monocular is full of it haha

Waifu took me to see a shecksy show in Vegas (Rouge) and couldn’t help but notice that we were among the youngest people in the crowd.

And what’s funny is for a guy who is trying to get a “Tactical Playboy” going, i was uncomfortable with some of the raunchy humor at times. Image Best piece of advice I ever picked up from when I was single was that no guy is smooth and appealing at all times to all women.

We are all cringe, and just gotta find the person who likes your brand of cringe.

Looking into demographic and economic distribution in Russia, Ukraine, Korea and Japan made me start looking inward at America.

Most notably for America, the delta of median income ($31K) to per capita GDP ($71K) REALLY stands out I think it's mostly a function of how vast and diverse the American nation is. Going to rural parts of Arkansas or South Carolina for training (where land is cheap) it's def a different country than say, Miami or Southern California.

I like how being interested in aesthetics in the firearms space kinda force you into a reverse bell curve of troglodytes and dandy hipsters.

Art for the masculine space is definitely in short supply, why everyone loves Mann, Nolan, Villeneuve films and Zimmer tracks This is one of most beautiful and hyper masculine pieces of art I have ever seen

Discussions about Twitter use made me go down my follow list, and damn... there were a lot of people and companies who died or moved on in the last ten years.

We used to model certain aspects of our company after GGT GGT had all the cool gear ya needed right outside Ft. Bragg, and organized training around the country, and served folks beer while they shopped.

We tried the beer thing, but our productivity went down too much (even if morale went up)

I remember years ago I did the "fake it til you make it" thing and asked a famous tactical gear company at SHOT if they'd be interested in hooking it up with pants for photoshoots, and they politely declined

Later I walked by the booth and they were still making fun of me Image "Bro, you see that guy trying to scam pants out of us? LOL"

"Yeah bro, we sell pants to [redacted] bro, pretty sure we don't need your help"

Anyway, I learned that day, that sometimes you just need to keep disrespectful offers to yourself and just pay up like everyone else.

Dang, it’s crazy seeing the person behind popular Twitter pop-intelligentsia accounts and the dude is genetic bottom of the barrel caricature of a soyjack. I’m a lot more used to seeing the dude being a schizo account or anime girl PFP being a jacked dude with a stable career and personal relationships

It's fascinating how seemingly simple things, like lifting weights, shooting guns, throwing a punch, actually has a ton of nuance to it if you wanna be able to do it right

For lifting, I think everyone generally puts 2 plates on the bench as a standard, and for marksmanship it's being able to group with a service pistol at 25 yards.

I think it's useful for me to remember how daunting both seemed to me at first. Took years to get there.

哎呀 這是什麼狗屎 Aside from the gas station laser getting packing taped to a muzzle, it’s actually a super common misconception that lasers are used for precision targeting thanks to movies and vidya games.

Lasers travel in straight lines absent atmospheric dispersion, bullets travel in arcs.

Being high intelligence just means you can process information quickly, doesn't mean you can process it correctly. *In general* smart people seem to come to the right answer more often than dumb people, but information hazards ala advertising, cult brainwashing, is a danger Human cognition has a huge flaw in that it's easy to throw an idea into there, but takes a lot more energy to genuinely consider it, and root out false assertions.

Why talking to liars, braggarts, and idiots is so unpleasant: you gotta constantly filter out their BS.

Recently we've had more S4s with cool bro units buy through the shop and it's always interesting seeing what people are needing or interested in.

I think it's funny how with slings, people are super... biased? opinionated?

Reminds me of this

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_tr… We cannot hope to ever carry every sling on the market.

Right now we carry the Spiritus Systems sling, which is light, padded, easy to adjust (great for force on force) and the Edgar Sherman Design sling which is light, has onboard stowage.

Both are quick adjust 2 points

Randy Weaver (a free man) passed away yesterday apparently.

Most people barely know even half a headline of what happened at Ruby Ridge, and it's honestly, annoying.

I like how the Netflix Docudrama about Waco started at Ruby Ridge, for context.

Main thing is that the US Federal Government was getting embarrassed in court for their actions at Ruby Ridge and there was real talk of dissolving the ATF, which is why the ATF went so hard to make a show at Waco.

Looked at old night vision video from 5 years ago when the MAWL C1+ launched, and tubes were not very great back then.

Modern tubes are crazy in terms of their performance, and the C1+ does amazing with them. Turns out, "more" is not always "better" especially with night vision. MOAR sensitive tubes, MOAR powerful lasers = fried tubes, esp in CQB lol.

A laser that can facility PID inside a structure AND designate for CAS, long range interdict? Uhhh JTAC rock the IZLID for a reason

Left wing's problems with guns is almost directly mirrored with the right wing's problems with EVs.

Lots of misconceptions and outright misinformation.

Ironically enough, I know a ton of mil guys with Teslas EVs make sense if

-You have a house to charge at home with
-Predictable commute and schedule
-Middle class or better income.

But the technology isn't ready for mass adoption yet thanks to battery tech needing lithium, nickel, cobalt and supply chains being what they are.

I was notified recently 2 things about the weapon laser market

1. US Gov has eyeballs too, and is starting to notice all the high power lasers on the "grey" market after 20 years of ignoring it.

My take is that they kept busting contractors & reservists stealing millions worth 2. Microchip controller and raw materials shortages starting to affect all laser companies as well as increased military demand.

Russia getting their asses blasted at night is making other countries want to really up their night fighting capability.

LMAO this reminds of the "The Hills Have Eyes", but this kinda shit is "business as usual" in ultra progressive coastal cities.

Only thing unusual about this, is that it's happening in Kentucky too.

Kids are vulnerable, learning, which is why crazy people targeting the youth so much.

Can't really shield kids from the crazies, but can give them psychological self defense lessons, protect them against indoctrination.

Met with my webdev (USMC) to go over the new website with his business and tech folks. At a bar after the day long meeting.

"The US Government is really getting their money's worth with these Green Berets"

Dude's plugged into a DoD job placement program, and it's worked great! His stories about hiring retiring Army SF dudes to work in tech are funny.

"First 3 months, quiet as a church mouse. I thought he might be stupid or something. Then it was like a switch turned on 'ok I now know enough about how this business works to take it over and fix it'"

It's interesting talking to former action guys and the types of personalities that excel at certain jobs. ADHD people are excellent assaulters, OCD people great snipers, and explosive breachers are artistes (pinkies out) Have heard many stories about the level of perfection demanded by high level units. Chuck P notes that the people who were lazy/sloppy about small things, never got their shit together for the big things, couldn't pass.

Left wing lady looks into the scene, writes about it.

Good on her for giving it a serious go, but perspectives aren’t changed easily.

While her anti-gun bias is obvious, she does bring up good points others have already noted. Her concern about the tail wagging the dog might make sense with all the cringe political shit talking she heard at gunsite, but I think in learning about violence, all sane people learn mostly of its cost and how important it is to avoid it.
