When I set out to make Walk the Line, I wanted to answer 1 question: what's fundamentally changed in China that tens of thousands would put their lives on the line to leave?

In the process, I discovered so much more -

I met hundreds of migrants on the border and on the migration trail, each with own reason to leave. They don't always have a strong asylum claim, but all share a desire for a better life and a deep disappointment of how last few years in China turned out. Image
