It is quite concerning to see the return of Netanyahu to power in Israel. The rightward shift among the Israeli electorate, to the point of forgiving Bibi’s corruption, signals the beginning of the end of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian crisis.
I’ve long been a supporter of the two-state solution, often casting the one-state solution as unreasonable and unrealistic. Israel, being a Jewish state, would lose its Jewish character under a one-state solution and find itself a Muslim-Arab majority state. Times have changed.

(1) appreciate the work @itslaurasplace does for the #SantaMariaTimes, but the people who were highlighted in this recent article are using terms they don’t understand, particularly “equity.” santamariatimes.com/news/local/edu…(2) So, for example, they have justified ending reading novels as part of their “vision” and “equity.” They’re also sticking to a strict pacing guide for a drill-and-kill workbook. They’ve also ended essay writing. That’s not equity: that’s a terrible version of equality.
