What is so odd: when you cite the numerous passages of Chrysostom on faith alone, the RC/EO apologists immediately jump in with the passages where he stresses that a mere notional faith doesn’t save. As if Lutherans believed that it could! Remember:
Luther is cited in our confessions affirming that you can no more separate faith from works than you can separate heat and light from fire. We do not dispute at all that saving faith produces good works; we deny that God’s forgiveness and mercy are given us because of our works.
