One last word on the Queen Elizabeth II. As most know, she was an avid horse rider. My sister asked me when I thought she last rode. Im not a royal aficionado, therefore I guessed in her 60s. Then, like usual- as a historian would- I commenced research. I was gobsmacked.> Most know that QE2’s beloved Corgis were at her funeral procession. Howver, some may not realize Emma, her black pony, was also in attendance. She downgraded to a large pony sometime after the millennium. They are easier to mount, & should she fall- it’s a lower height. >

Notice the frame cuts. The black is cut so that it appears infinite. The same is done w/white & on walls of white, it lends to the painting extending beyond its actual borders. The frame is every bit a part of the painting as the paint itself. Her attention to detail is “chef 💋” Here we have an example of the cuts being made on the white lines. Sometimes the inside edge of the frame cuts are colored. (See image after this one.)

Louise #Nevelson proudly stated, “You must create your own world. I am responsible for my world,” and boy, did she create worlds, in fact she created many worlds, in small shacks, wall installations, stele, metalworks. She exhibited amazing variety. Almost entirely recycled. Painted in white, silver, gold, or black. Others left to rust. A few were done in jewel tones, dark red, blue or green but very few. This work could only have been fashioned in her era, as homes were being gutted>
