It's a "next generation" TN panel that runs at a native resolution of 1280x1024. It's got DVI and VGA in, and features a USB 2.0 hub. What do I have in store for a boring 10 dollar 13 year old monitor?

Based on how this new generation of AMD CPUs shapes up later this year, I may be overhauling my main computer to update it. One thing though that's a certainty is that I'm making one of these LCD side panel things. They're just too cool not to, and they're cheap as hell It's also a really cheap way of getting a third monitor without it looking like crap, or going through and redoing my setup with a very expensive monitor to match the existing 2. Should be really helpful to have things like Discord or performance info shown there

Anyone got some cool little sounds to use as a startup sound for the Amiga? Maybe something relating to an old movie or a song sample or something? I don't wanna use like a Mac or Windows startup sound because that's lame I need the PS1 startup sound but... not the PS1 startup sound please

While we're waiting for the 040 accelerator to come in for the Amiga, let's boot up WinUAE to try and fix some of the more annoying issues the computer has at the moment. TIL about a really... bad ISA card. This is a Longshine EMS memory card model LCS-8661N, released some time in the late 1980s or early 1990s. It's a pretty typical ram card, but it's got some... strange aspects about it that make it ridiculously impractical and stupid Typically, cards like this were designed for 286 class systems, and featured at MOST 4MB of ram, with the average being around 1-2MB. Didn't really need much more than that for that kind of machine, so it wasn't important to have that much more capacity, but this one is different

How is it possible for me to go from feeling pretty good and motivated to complete apathy and misery in only a few minutes. There's just this cloud of confusion, fear, uncertainty, and hopelessness that washes over me I see the issues I have getting worse. New drive came in. It was packed really well, but the label being torn is concerning. I think this might be a dead drive, but you never know until you try Mmmm yeah not happy sounds came out when moving the spindle by hand. Might be eating my words here on the reliability of these drives

Believe it or not, but I've never listened to Dark Side before. First listen through. Seems pretty good so far. I can definitely hear the Alan Parsons influence in here, which is always a good thing It's also very, very progressive for an early 70s album. Tons of synth stuff and whatnot, which is really neat from this era of music. I'm shocked at how popular this album is. The least popular song STILL has 55 million plays. That's unreal!
