My husband didn’t believe me about ChatGPT lying about Novak’s records, so he went ahead and tried it himself.

These are his results.

First he asked. When he got the wrong answer, he corrected ChatGPT

He asked:

in tennis who has the most slams

As of August 2024, the record for the most Grand Slam singles titles in tennis is held by Margaret Court with 24 titles. Among the men, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic are tied with 22 Grand Slam singles titles each. The records

Sinner is No.1.👏
If he keeps the #1 uninterruptedly till August 30, 2032, he’ll break Novak’s record of 428 weeks as #1.
If he’s ranked #1 on September 4, 2038, he’ll break Novak’s record as the oldest #1.
I mention this to illustrate the immensity of these 2 Nole records.
1/🧵 I would also like to contrast the way Djokovic and Sinner’s ascents to #1 were covered by the tennis media.

Let’s go back to Wimbledon 2011, when Novak clinched the #1 when he beat Jo Wilfrid Tsonga in the SF. The questions Cristina highlighted are from Wimbledon pressers

Novak Djokovic has pulled out of Roland Garros with a meniscus tear on his right knee.
We don’t know the severity of the injury or when he will be back.
We can only hope for the best.🙏🏼💔
But one thing that I find abhorrent is the reaction by too many in the tennis community. 2/
The gloating, the celebrations, the lack of empathy, the lies… Even after all these years I find them too much.
I obviously underestimated the pain Novak has caused with his triumphs and overestimated the level of human decency among the masses.
I am too optimistic.🤷🏻‍♀️😀

The hate I’m reading from some pundits, fans’ comments suggesting Novak is playing Geneva “just to prevent Sinner from getting #1”,or that he used the bottle incident “as an excuse for the loss in Rome”make me wonder whether people truly understand the current situation.
1/
I think they don’t realise how comprehensively has Novak cleaned the table.
He has nothing left to prove, he has won everything and currently holds ALL the main tennis records, the records we’ve been hearing about for the last decades. He has them all.
Whenever he decides to

@TheBodyServe Maybe you are unaware of what happened or have forgotten it. So I will attempt a brief summary, if I may.
1. Novak kept his vaccination status private, never talked about it and he was prepared to not go to Australia.
2. Tiley got in contact with him and told him he could ⬇️ 1/ @TheBodyServe get an exemption, like many athletes and artists had got. He was entitled, like everybody else, to apply for it.
3. Novak applied, his application was reviewed anonymously by two medical panels and an exemption was granted for him.
4. Novak was elated and got ready to go. 2/

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I am writing this for the haters, the members of the lynch-mob,the virtue-signallers, the hypocrites who pretend not to be gloating, the "confederation of the pious" as Oliver Brown called them, the silent ones, too afraid to speak out...

1/
What our community is witnessing, the character assassination, the total lack of humanity and empathy, is a stain on our sport bigger than all the stains we have witnessed in recent years... and we have seen some big stains.

So let's be honest and speak the truth for once.

ATP RANKINGS & CORONA VIRUS

/Thread

When IW was cancelled, there was no doubt that points would drop on March 23: those were the rules.🤷🏻‍♀️

Since then, a lot of confusion has been sown.

When @JohnIsner asked Twitter for opinions I knew we were in dire straits.😝😉

1/
So I decided to add my 2 cents to a debate that shouldn't even be a debate, but it clearly has become one.

Surprisingly to me,many tennis fans, even hard-core tennis fans, don't understand fully how the rankings work, what the rules are, how ties between players are sorted, etc.

THE MEN'S PLAYER OF THE DECADE: NOVAK DJOKOVIC
By Steve Tignor

A text analysis (as promised)
1/
While many sports writers have given Novak his due as one of the most outstanding athletes of the decade, tennis pundits have been more reluctant.

They have avoided the subject altogether, or dared to chose somebody else, or have changed the subject to Players of the Decade.

Amid the many and very welcome tributes to Djokovic as Player of the Decade, I want to write a thread about another battle that he won this year.

A battle fought not on court, but in the boardroom, in the press room, fending off attacks from Twitter&and the media. The origins of this battle go back to 2016, when Novak was voted President of the Player Council by his colleagues.

I remember the media strongly backing Murray&being bitterly disappointed with how the players voted.

There was one nasty article... and then silence.

In the last decade, Novak Djokovic has won more matches, more titles, more Grand Slams, more Masters and more World Tour Final trophies than any other player.

He has spent more weeks as #1, more weeks in the top #2 and more weeks in the top#3 than any player. (1/9) He has won the Year End #1 trophy more times than any other player.

He has earned more ranking points than any other player.

He has beaten more top-5, top-10 and top-20 players than anybody else this decade.

He beat his 2 main rivals much more than he lost to them. (2/9)

LONG THREAD/THERAPEUTIC RANT 😇

OPEN LETTER FOR NOVAK DJOKOVIC

Absolute, undiluted love ❤️ for @DjokerNole WARNING: What follows is a tribute to my favourite player, the best player I have been fortunate enough to see in action in a lifetime of watching tennis: Mr Novak Djokovic.

You have been warned.

If you don't like Novak, walk away now or forever hold your peace. 😉😇

On May 26th. 2005, I saw @DjokerNole play for the first time and became a fan.
I remember calling my husband and telling him:"Look at this boy. He'll be #1 one day". Little did I know how much more he would be.
To celebrate this 14th anniversary, I decided to reminisce. ❤️ We need to go back one more year, to 2004,to Roland Garros. I loved that tournament because the entire "Legión Argentina" was there: Cañas, Zabaleta, Calleri, Chela, Mónaco, Nalbandian, Gaudio, Coria... I loved them all... I wanted all Argentinian SFs and almost got my wish.😍

So, as promised yesterday, I will tell you a story about how Novak Djokovic contributed to mathematical knowledge.

Is it corny and trite? Maybe. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But it's the absolute truth. 😀 Before I start let me tell you what a pure mathematician does: we solve "open" mathematical problems, problems which haven't been solved by anybody.

We answer questions about mathematical structures and give the answer in the form of a statement, together with a rigurous proof.

A THREAD ABOUT NOVAK DJOKOVIC AND WIMBLEDON
🏆💚💜💚💜🏆💚💜💚💜🏆💚💜💚💜🏆

The Canada Masters is about to start and I haven't celebrated properly Novak's 4th Wimbledon title, by far the sweetest of them all.

So I decided to ramble on...

If you care to join me. 😀🍷 Who would have thought, when Novak was just starting out, that he would find himself holding twice as many Wimbledon titles as USO ones?
Were we not told that grass was not his thing?
(Never mind that he made a Wimbledon SF at the age of 20, who cares about facts 😉)
