This shows the Democratic party's self conception to be a sham. For years they've been the party of procedure, process and norms. They've slavishly obeyed obscure rules, written and unwritten, in the name of protecting democracy, at the expense of their entire supposed agenda.
They tanked entire bills because they didn't have a supermajority in the Senate that they don't even constitutionally need. Whole agendas were thrown aside because the "Senate parliamentarian" said they couldn't do it. We want to do good, they appealed, but the rules won't let us
