The years of brainwashing activists to think that every issue comes back to Israel being the problem is remarkable. It is one of the brilliant hallmarks of SJP founder Hatem Bazian. His plan was to build alliances to make Palestine the front and center issue everywhere. From antiwar movements to climate justice, BLM to the women’s march, somehow Palestine became the topic. If you are confused as to why campuses are exploding, it is the work of one man, Hatem Bazian. Bazian is responsible for making every issue about I/P and created SJP. In the late eighties, Bazian became the president of the National People of Color Student Coalition. Within this role, he got the US Student Association to pass resolutions in 1991 demanding the US cut aid to Israel. Jewish students at his home campus, SFSU, reported exponential growth in antisemitism. He used his position to advocate for racial solidarity for the Palestinians.
