Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) is a no on Judge Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court confirmation.

"Judge Barrett was not fit to be a Circuit Judge in 2017 and she is the wrong choice for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court today. Once again, she will not have my support.” Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), who voted to confirm Barrett to 7th CCA: “I’ve said from the beginning ... this vacancy should be filled by the winner of the ongoing election. Drove through downtown Lee, MA today, in the heart of rural Berkshire County in #MA01.

Saw 8 yard signs for @NealForCongress and 1 for @joekennedy. Found about a half-dozen @AlexBMorse yard signs while driving around Berkshire County yesterday. Also one or two adverts for @NealForCongress, @EdMarkey, and @joekennedy.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell & Senate Republicans, while preferring congressional action, are applauding President Trump’s executive orders to defer payroll taxes and student-loan deferrments, and partially revive unemployment insurance enhancements and eviction relief. McConnell: “Since Democrats have sabotaged backroom talks with absurd demands that would not help working people, I support President Trump exploring his options to get unemployment benefits and other relief to the people who need them the most.”

Politics in the age of #coronavirus: A Schumer-linked super PAC is up with a TV ad blasting Sen. Joni Ernst for backing a bill he helped negotiate and pass. “I don't think they have a working relationship": Should Biden pick Harris as his running mate, it would produce an alliance that has previously been tangential at its best and confrontational at its worst. More from me and @mattholt33:🔒njour.nl/s/708971 Harris as attorney general lobbied Biden in 2013 to nationalize California’s method of confiscating weapons from newly-prohibited gun owners.

Obama’s actions, based on Biden's recommendations, didn't touch the topic.

Biden’s campaign, however, endorses California's model. Image

How Congress is still struggling to keep #coronavirus away from the halls of power?

A lack of rapid testing, a patchwork of telework policies, and election-year finger-pointing stalling millions of dollars in cleaning supplies for the the Capitol complex

McConnell this morning was one of the first I've heard to accurately describe today's milestone following expected confirmation of Judge Cory Wilson to 5th Circuit:

"The Senate will have confirmed 200 of President Trump's nominees to lifetime appointments on the federal bench." Wilson will not be the 200th "judge" confirmed since 2017:

Included in that "200" tally are three judges (Walker, Brasher, and Quattlebaum) who were each confirmed to two different courts in last three years.

The Senate may instead take up the National Defense Authorization Act. McConnell on police reform: "The House version is going nowhere in the Senate."

Instead, McConnell plans to force a cloture vote. Says Democrats will have to decide whether to filibuster Scott's bill or get on it and try to amend it.

.@SenatorTimScott is having a moment.

With a lifetime of credibility on the debate over racial bias, Scott is crafting a police reform bill that he hopes “brings our country together and solves some underlying issues.” Why now? First is that there has been a "sea change," in Scott's words, in how Americans view systemic racism. “Without question, this is different. It feels different. It sounds different. The protesters are different."
