One of the best seismically stable hydropower project was #TarbelaDam. Bcoz due to the pressure of water & sediment load the active tectonics got suppressed. Before constructing any mega #hydropower project, pre seismic zoning mst be ensured. Rawal Dam lies above active fault 1/2 Because #WAPDA didn't bother to conduct the pre #seismic zoning and even the post Dam assessment report doesnot address the active tectonics of the capital city! The authorities still living in denial that there is no active zone in the capital city!
