To this day there are Sikh mothers still waiting for and praying that their “disappeared” sons might come home. At least 200k Sikhs were murdered in extra judicial killings by Indian police under KP Gill’s watch, including my own family member; Balbir Singh Brar. He was illegally murdered by Indian police. We were never given his body, we were never able to hold a funeral or perform his final rite of passage. Instead, his photo and name was printed in newspapers and he was falsely labelled as a terrorist who died in a fictional encounter.
