Because no one asked me, I figured I’d weigh in on the River to the Sea debate. 🧵 Since 1967 there has been one group — Israelis — in control of the territory between the River and the Sea, with that group enjoying freedom and another group — Palestinians (in WB and Gaza) — living under occupation, without freedom. 1/x

🧵The reason some folks accuse those who rightfully say Israel’s rule over Palestinians is apartheid of antisemitism is because they have no real argument to rebut it. So the hasbarists try to de-legitimize both the speaker and the charge of apartheid. 1/9 But notice they only do it when *some* people use the A word, and not when others do. They didn’t do it recently when the 1,000 scholars (mostly Jewish and many if not most Israeli) put out their piece. They won’t do it response to Gen. (Ret.) Levin’s statement today. 2/9

Notice when Jewish scholars call it apartheid @JGreenblattADL doesn’t call them antisemitic. “We, academics and other public figures from Israel/Palestine and abroad, call attention to the direct link between Israel’s recent attack on the judiciary and its illegal occupation of millions of Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.”
