✨💨So excited about this. I’ve made an affordable, all-in-one home mask fit testing kit! The kit has *everything* you need to do mask fit tests at home. In stock and ships in 2-3 business days. fittests4all.bigcartel.com/product/home-f… If you’re already wearing N95/KN95/KF94-type mask, doing a home fit test is a great way to reduce risk & increase protection. Every time I see someone do a fit test, I see same thing: often shock that some masks don't fit well & they learn how to improve fit & be more protected.

After staying with family while I was out of town, our cat is testing COVID positive. Testing done on a Lucira molecular test. Used third party flocking swabs to swab cat’s cheeks, nose. Lucira will reject if no human DNA is present (control function) so pooled with my own swab. ImageImage Controlled for own possible positivity by testing self prior day (neg), day of post above (neg) & following day (neg) on Lucira. Repeat test pos. Cat is ~18 years old. Cat was exhibiting lethargy, lack of socialization, hiding behavior, occasional sneezes.

Why should you do a fit test? A fit test is how you upgrade your mask. If you're already wearing an N95, the best thing you can do after that to reduce your risk is a home fit test: reddit.com/r/Masks4All/co… #FitTests4All Imagine you're flying somewhere. The baggage limit is 50lbs. You want to bring as much as possible. So what's the next step? Is it to buy a new, super light suitcase for your trip? Or buy a scale so you can figure out how much your bag weighs ahead of time? Image

@pbleic Points against theory: 1. COVID is orders of magnitude worse in immune naive than the common hCoV, we can work backward from seroprevalence studies. 2. In animal models as well - basically no disease in animal models with common hCoV infection. 3. Pathogenesis of COVID may not be @pbleic related to novelty but instead more intrinsic; e.g. could be broader tissue tropism, renin-angiotensin system dysregulation (theory I like), superantigen theory. If we look at the common hCoV, I’ve read the most pathogenic is NL-63, which also uses ACE2. But NL-63 has important

You can do a DIY mask fit test for around $7 now. I've tested it out (thanks to @ann_santori for the tip) and this $7 atomizer works, here's how (see thread) amazon.com/gp/product/B08… 1. Make a Sweet N' Low solution or purchase bitter solution. See (10:25) to learn how to make the Sweet N' Low solution (basically just mix a bunch of Sweet N' Low with hot water).
