Today, I saw a car crash that was pretty bad and pulled over to make sure everyone was okay. There were three cars involved and I was the only person who stopped. Lucky I did because the cops came and tried to suggest the 17-year-old driver was driving recklessly. Once I was certain that everyone was OK, I made sure that the minor called his parents to have someone come be there with him. I also had to keep one of the people involved from escalating in her anger against the minor.

Someone in my mentions today said that biphobia and policing who belongs at Pride and who they are allowed to bring just ‘hurts a couple of cishet bfs feelings.' Actually, no. That's a WILD misunderstanding of why it's bad.

THREAD. Queer folks are NOT the only people who go to Pride. Parents go. Allies go. Brothers. Sisters. Friends. Pride includes LOTS of people who are NOT queer.

Yet, in that VAST sea of non-queer folks attending somehow it's ALWAYS bi women's cishet bfs folks are mad about.

Harrison Butker gave a speech the other day about how his 'timeliness Catholic values' are hated by many. Only, the nuns affiliated with the school he spoke at wrote a letter denouncing him.

And as someone who went to Catholic school -- I never once heard those messages. His whole pose as sharing his 'religious' beliefs around the idea that it's women's vocation to stay at home relies on most people not knowing much about Catholic teaching.

Hey! Leftists who are currently being called ableists. If you want to stop being called ableists, here is a reading list of books on disability, capitalism and leftist political philosophies.

Let's start with Capitalism and Disability. haymarketbooks.org/books/1289-cap… Next, it's time to learn about disability justice and revolutionary concepts of care. Care Work is a good start.arsenalpulp.com/Books/C/Care-W…

Hi. I have brain damage from a brain injury. There is Discourse going around from folks (who may or may not have a brain injury too — I don’t know their med history) about how some COVID cautious people are too focused on avoiding brain damage. Lets break both discourses down. First, COVID caution people in their fear of developing brain injuries are spreading stereotypes about brain injuries. They focus on emotional, aggression, cognitive, and memory issues. I have never been diagnosed with emotional issues from my injury

I have COVID right now and am including the @VielightInc in my treatment. I had one for brain injury rehab. Two days in a row when I was experiencing what I can recognize as a brain injured person as a neuro energy crash when everything shuts down and I have severe fatigue… I’ve used the vielight. The first time there was mild improvement. The second time dramatic improvement. Now, neuro crashes often can have dramatic sudden improvements so I can’t definitively attribute it to the Vielight. But many have been asking me about it and

In Texas & other states, she could soon be arrested, forced to register as a sex offender, serve time or be sued for this crotch grab if there are minors present. Think it’s just for drag? In an attempt to make hate constitutional, Texas expanded the legislation to everyone. Don’t believe me? See here. And Texas’ bill has a civil penalty where citizens could sue even if prosecutors don’t seek charges. dallasnews.com/news/politics/…

I once tweeted the words ‘Twitter Crush’ and for three weeks after people were sliding into my DMs to tell me I was theirs. About 20 in total. I ended up having to tweet to ask people to stop. This also happened when someone I was romantically invoiced with betrayed me and completely destroyed my sense of trust and I tweeted about it. While I was still clearly unwell people were messaging me to declare feelings.

Someone read this tweet and decided I was saying queer folks are like religion. Some of y’all need remedial reading comprehension lessons on here. Seriously. Lol. This is one of the most annoying things about Twitter, honestly. Your lack of reading comprehension is your problem. Please seek some kind of lessons or don’t comment in accusatory and angry ways at people making completely DIFFERENT analogies.

The Target bathing suit panic is occurring b/c it’s PROFITABLE. Some conservative TikTokers create hyperbolic and false videos holding up swimsuits for women while claiming they’re for kids and then go viral and make money from views and grow their following. That’s what this is. This is manufactured outrage for VIEWS. Anti-trans hate makes MONEY right now. People are aggressively scapegoating and dehumanizing an entire group for very self-interested reasons because it’s acceptable to hate that group among their viewers.

I hate to break it to conservatives and white supremacists but dramatists from the Ancient Greeks to Shakespeare did drag.

Shakespeare even had men dressing up as women dressing up as men in some plays. Drag squared!

The term drag is derived from Shakespearean times, even. “The "drag" terminology is generally traced back to Shakespeare’s plays; in them, male actors would wear long costume dresses that used to "drag" on the stage floor.”

Should we cancel all those things too? byarcadia.org/post/the-evolu…

I read the eugenics MAiD paper with my partner last night. He’s an academic and agency is a topic he’s an expert on. We had to stop reading multiple times in horror at the wrongheadedness or audacity of the arguments. jme.bmj.com/content/early/… The paper revolves around defining autonomy in such a way that it’s applicable to people who explicitly say they do not want to die but are only dying because they don’t have basic human rights like medical care or housing.

Ugh. I just found two people glowingly complimenting the MAiD eugenics article. One is an author on medical topics and the other is an adjunct lecturer at Queen's and hospice palliative care nurse practitioner. I am going to walk away from Twitter now and not quote tweet them. "It's so well-written"

Honestly, fuck you.

Every time I share discriminatory things that my old employer did to me because I was disabled, it goes viral because people are outraged by it.

Yet, my employer once did a Duty to Inquire suggesting that my distress at discriminatory treatment was... pathological. I don't think you can understand how destabilizing it is to have this shit happen to you, to beg HR to intervene, and then have them suggest your distress is because you have brain damage.

Love it when people I agree with read something and decide because of one tangential mention in it that I am their MORTAL ENEMY then call me a bunch of names. When a simple search of my tweets would show them that we're actually aligned.

Credentialist cunt was a first for me. Just going to post some old tweets for like... no reason.

A few weeks after I was told my employer would be rolling back an accommodation against my doctors' advice, my boss emailed suggesting I needed to take time off work since I wasn't well.

She was concerned about me, she said. Concern she showed by rolling back my accommodation. I have not been coerced into MAiD but I have had the experience of someone taking away a needed support for my health and safety and then telling me that the only solution was to take unpaid time off work or quit.

Philosophy Twitter. Please collect your eugenicists. Two U of T bioethicists, Kayla Wiebe and Amy Mullins published a paper about using the story of a person who has no choice but to choose MAiD to argue that it’s unjust to NOT kill people if they’re choosing it out of poverty. “While the decisions may be “deeply tragic,” it would be wrong to deny MAID to people whose request is being driven most of all by poverty or other unjust conditions — “people who not only might, but have explicitly said” they would prefer not to die.” nationalpost.com/news/canada/ca…

Tomorrow, I am talking to the assessor from workers' comp about the PTSD I developed at my former employer from discrimination and harassment around my disability.

I want to post about this because I would have liked to READ posts about this before I did it myself. I never lost income. I was off work for PTSD from my employer for about 1.5 months last year but that was covered by our workplace sick days plan so I didn't need to make a complaint for that.

I'm doing it so they will cover my therapy. They can cover it retroactively.

Before I met my partner, I had a history of dating folks with mental health issues (no problems with that part) who would have some kind of breakdown at some point and get cruel and emotionally abusive towards me. It’s so hard to navigate because the person is obviously unwell. And you want to be there for them and understanding because mental health struggles are hard and no one is perfect when they’re at their lowest. But they put me through absolute hell. Two years in with my partner and nothing. No red flags either.

I went to a work retreat last month. I masked the whole time. I had my own hotel room. I skipped all indoor meals with the permission of my manager. I did not get sick.

It’s easy for companies to do their best to keep staff members safe. I did the same last summer. I did not get sick then either.

My partner and I only take risks for work things but we still make them as safe as possible. Thankfully, my employers have been extremely supportive.
