Excited to have this research agenda out! Now here's my sarcastic/opinionated version 🧵 The Off Switch and Halt scenario is definitely the best plan, but it's also going to be hard! There will be competitive pressures against slowing down, at the corporate and military levels. The meme with the office workers discussing ideas and one getting thrown out of the window. The one thrown out suggests not building ASI, artificial superintelligence, yet, while the others want to accelerate.
