I’m at the National Press Club for an event about @rpogrebin and @katekelly’s Kavanaugh book. The Press Club brought in extra security for the event. There’s a balcony here so it’s theoretically possible Mark Judge will enter on a hang glider like Gary Busey at the end of the overlooked 1980 romp “Foolin’ Around”

Oh hi I’m at the Demand Free Speech rally where a guy dressed like a Continental soldier is leading a singalong of “God Bless America,” which he promises will shut down the counterprotests And now he says he’s heading over to the 14th Street side to challenge counterprotesters to a sing off

Got to the Baby Trump balloon. Robert Kennedy of central NJ is one of its “babysitters.” Says they’ve had only one unpleasant incident so far with a guy who wanted to “free speech his way into the balloon.” Park police helped him on his way. Don Lessem, a dinosaur expert from Philadelphia, told me about his statue of Trump tweeting on a golden toilet, which he’s getting ready to set up. “Great art just speaks to you,” Lessem says about the 16-foot-high statue.
