Holy shit everyone, I just had the scariest scam attempt on my phone. I got a call that according to my caller ID was actually my banks phone number. The guy on the call said that I had some usual activity, he used all the right language He told me exactly what the Transactions were, he told me the location they had supposedly come from, used all the right language. And he told me that for my account, not my credit card mind you my bank account, I need to change my login and my password

This is what we call the last mile in disaster response- the area impacted by the natural disaster loses infrastructure like connectivity. This is why when I am advising governments who are working on improving their disaster response technology- I am very firm on the need for planning to run everything without the cloud for the first 72 hours at a minimum.

So, at my core I firmly believe that it is my job as a leader to protect the well being of my people. This is something I am VERY passionate about- that the best way to get the job done is to have people who are in fighting shape to get the job done. To me, my success as a manager is NOT based on getting praise, or even awards, my success is if my people are successful. If they are getting timely promotions, if they are getting awards, if they are getting shit done and have a great reputation? Win.

I was thinking about tips for re:Invent that I have been seeing...and I think there are some that are good for any convention or conference you go to. So I am going to give some here. :) 1. Wash your hands a lot, have hand sanitizer in your backpack. Remember people are bringing germs from all over the world. You don't want to get sick!
