1. There were only two primary wealth creators, namely, farming and manufacturing. Farming brought 'produce' into this world and Mfg brought 'product'.

Haircut, medical treatment, plumbing, driving your vehicle, ... all these are primary wealth creating services. I call these 'primary' because these do not need external support/funding as an essential element.

வீரா. தெருவில் விடப்பட்ட நாய். கருணையுடன் இத்தகைய நாய்களை எடுத்து வளர்த்து நோய் தீர்த்து பராமரிக்கும் ஒரு அமைப்பிடம் இருந்து ஒரு இடைக்கால பாதுகாவலராக மகள் எடுத்து வளர்க்கிறார். Corona காலத்து வீடடங்கி இருக்கும் சூழலை இது கொஞ்சம் பயனுள்ளதாகவும் ரசிக்கும்படியாகவும் ஆக்குகிறது. 1/7 வீராவுக்கு ஒரு பெரிய உடற்கூறு பிரச்சனை. கைவிடப்படும் போது அதன் இரு பின்னங்கால் பாதங்களையும் நறுக்கிவிட்டு வீசியிருக்கிறார்கள்.😠 இதன் காரணமாக அவனால் நான்கு கால்களால் நடக்க இயலுவதில்லை. முன்னங்கால்கள் இரண்டால் அவன் சிறிது தொலைவு மட்டுமே நடப்பான். 2/7

A typical bus is powered by a ~150 hp engine . A typical sedan car is powered by a ~90 hp engine. The first gives ~5 km per litre. By the engine power logic, the car should give a ~8-9 km per litre mileage. But the car gives 15-20 km per litre. Why? The power required by a vehicle for its traction depends on overall resistance to motion, calculated at the tyre-to-road contact point. It has four major components.
1. The rolling resistance: Proportional to the vehicle weight. Normally around 1-2% for on-road vehicles. 1/

1987. Hindustan Motors. After Orientation program, I was designated as Product Engineer. A job that has to take care of incremental design work like field failure analysis, corrective action, cost reduction, etc. The first job allotted to me was to solve failure of Rim Clamp 1/6 ..that clamps two rims on to the rear wheel hub of 35 ton off-road dump truck. The rim clamps used to crack and fail, a long time problem, and the design team tried tricks that didn't work. Considered a difficult task, this was assigned to me, an unwelcome 'outsider' 😆 2/6

I paid ₹2,000 for a twin burner SS gas stove when we took a gas connection in 1987 (it included an illegal 'premium'). The actual cost of the stove was ~₹1200. I received a salary of almost the same ₹2K p.m. as an Engineer in a decent Birla company. Look at the pic below
1/5 Today, 30y later, a similar engineer gets ~₹30K p.m. But the cost of such appliances almost remain same! (bundle at ₹5K). I calculated the value today from the CPI based inflation from here inflation.eu/inflation-rate… It works out to ₹10,355 for that ₹1,200 I spent 30y ago.

There is a concept called 'living off the grid'. Off-the-grid life refers to living in a self-sufficient manner without reliance on one or more public utilities like electricity connection, piped water supply, gas connection, underground drainage connection, etc.
1/8 One may be able to live daily life without these hardware infrastructure in India easily. If you are in a village, burning firewood, lighting oil lamps, drawing water from well, and peeing/defecating in open, you may be able to live off-the-grid.

There has to be an education at school level (as part of civics, social science, or something similar) that clearly explains illness. What is 'disorder' caused by internal reasons, what is 'disease' caused by an infection of microbes & the third type caused by an 'accident'. 1/6 The difference between contagious and non contagious diseases. The difference between something that leaves without any major mark, and the ones that cause permanent impact like disability. Then comes the difference between 'relief', 'cure' & 'prevention'. 2/6

There are many namesake four-lane 'highways' in #Coimbatore including the one where seven innocent lives are lost by an irresponsible scoundrel today. These roads have only one drivable lane in each way, effectively making these two-lane highways. 1/5 There is no shoulder or service lane in any of these 'highways'. There are no 'stop-lanes' for buses. Buses stop right on the left lane. Private bus operators are privileged (keeping officials on maamool) and at times even occupy both lanes during stop. 2/5
