this is such an incredible thread on why a lot of entertainment journalism looks the way it does. If a system incentivises mediocrity with the complicity of stars and their makers, mediocrity is what you’ll get. on a side note, the censorship-of-streaming debate is ironic given how much OTTs love inflicting the same when it comes to journalists asking Qs. And these are folks we imagined to be different than legacy Bollywood. Bottom line is simple: everyone wants to control the narrative.
