Dr Mukhisa Kituyi for president?

What I know
By Wafula Buke

1. The best technician any leader will ever have in a team. Actually, a super intellectual processor.

2. He is too sharp but too impatient to chair or lead any ordinary collection of people.

>>>2 He generates rebellion within the shortest time as chair or leader.

3. The most brilliant, unscrupulous and unblushing self-seeker you may ever know. Kituyi will pursue his goals regardless of morals and is smart enough to disguise this quality.

Wafula Buke gives 10 REASONS why the kikuyu nation deserves sympathy rather than condemnation as they wander in Ruto's political darkness.

1. The Kikuyu gave us a global trade mark when they crafted Africa's 1st liberation instrument, the Mau Mau. The outcome?

>>>

as forest returnees languished in slums: landless. We have ignored their pain.

(a) As we grew up robberies and general crime were attributed to the Kikuyu lowly. In Tanzania and parts of Kenya Njoroge meant crime.
(b) Prostitution was launched in Kenya by children of theMau Mau

We reject the myopic Pro-BBI= Pro-Raila/Anti-BBI=Pro-Ruto binary.

We are above this narrowness!

Comrade @Sungu_Oyoo and I respond to the prevalent pressure in activists platforms and the social media to define everyone's position along those prisms.

A THREAD

../2 It is disrespectful to equate any opposition to BBI/Raila to mean support for Ruto, as reflected in the conversations in these platforms.
Part of the problem with this country is that our imagination has been stifled for so long, and we have become prisoners of binaries.

Let's get this about devolution:
Devolution is not the national government giving counties money. It is the constitution dividing money between both levels of government.

Thread 10 years on, both county and national levels of government fail to come to terms with Article 6 (2) of the Constitution which provides that the governments at county and national levels are DISTINCT and Interdependent. Both levels of government are creatures of the Constitution.

Even where I forgive, I should remember too well and document, NEVER TO FORGET! Let me add this Facebook post on the subject, written by veteran journalist Mugo Theuri who spent 49 days in the Nyayo torture chambers and years in prison. Thread.

The thing we should know about the fight against illegal, inappropriate and improper wildlife management & poaching in Kenya is it's about land pia! Land rights!
- Chichi Koech
#NRTLetOurPeopleGo The invasion of Laikipia & the militarization of Northern Rangers Trust is not only about wildlife. You cannot tell me a people who have spent centuries killing animals for fun can wake up one bright morning and decide to protect them.

.@OkiyaOmtatah goes to court for a mention of his case like he has done every month since 2011. The magistrate is late for an hour, prosecution agrees with him that he attends another PIL case he has at the environmental tribunal, a superior court. Magistrate orders his arrest. Magistrate won't hear Omtatah waited for an hour but had to go to the higher court and requested his case be mentioned after he was done with the tribunal as happens in court always. He promptly issues a warrant of arrest and goes away without hearing any other case. #FreeOmtatah

Mercenaries have been hired to exploit Kenya's natural resources (wildlife, oil and minerals) for economic gain. The reasons go back many years, but there is one recent salient element that reflects all.

facebook.com/dennis.morton.… During 2003, against the backdrop of the turmoil and scandal within the Kenyan Wildlife Services (KWS), secret and private conversations were being held on how to manipulate this turmoil to take control of Kenya's natural resources (wildlife and minerals) for economic gain.(DM)
