A core tenet of Eastern spiritual philosophy is that detachment from outcome is the key to happiness.

If only we could find the willpower to not care about the outcome of any situation, the bliss embodied by the Buddha, Siddhartha, and all the great mystics would be ours! Compressing spiritual wisdom can be helpful for the writer, but not the reader.

When we read "detach yourself from outcome," we see only the tip of the iceberg. We miss the body of understanding from which that wisdom is derived.
