Today I experienced discrimination and ableism from my medical school, resulting in me being denied the chance to sit my exam…all because I turned up to the exam in a wheelchair.
I never come on here anymore, often silenced as an undergrad, but I’m tired, angry, and devastated.
For context, I’m an inpatient, but got the 👍🏻 to do today’s exam on day leave. I’ve done this in prev exams too - my conditions mean frequent hosp stays come part of it.
Due to EDS, I often weaken in flares. My wheelchair = independence. That’s why I brought it to today’s exam.
