Last month I did a presentation at Yale University on Idea "Ingredients". What are the "ingredients" that make a GREAT investment idea? If you think of a great idea like great chocolate cake (I am a connoisseur, lol), what ingredients make great chocolate cake? For example, you don't find rubber in great chocolate cake. Chris is a dear friend, a fantastic investor, very well-surrounded, and one of my favorite learning partners. Very grateful he had me come to class What is field research? It is first person knowledge and experience of a business’s interactions with its customers, suppliers, competitors, and geographies for the sake of gaining conviction in an investment thesis. It is best done IN THE FIELD, not sitting at your desk in NYC
