I'm really disturbed by the response from some of those in the wrestling community to the celebration of this year's historic 5 black NCAA Champions. We claim that we want to "grow wrestling" yet oppose our media outlets sharing groundbreaking developments in our sport. Of the 330 wrestlers at the NCAA D1 Tournament, only 39 of them were black. That's 12%. African American participation in this sport is still relatively low in comparison to other popular sports like basketball and football.

A thread: I'm sure a lot of you have heard about the young man who was forced to cut his hair during a wrestling match in order to avoid being disqualified. That young man is Andrew Johnson of Buena High School in New Jersey.
