FINVIZ Screener Tips: Gems Before The Pump

Select "Unusual Volume" filter in the "Signal" menu at the top. The filters narrow results to stocks with above average volume, and trading just above MA200 - a reliable support/floor for easy assessment of downside risk. Image "Price" & "Sector/Industry" filters can be altered to better suit your needs & market activity.

"Float" (Shares available to trade) filter is also useful. <50M is my starter. Float is like supply and demand. If supply is low & demand is high, the price will increase...

TA Cheat Sheet: I drafted this after a discussion with a friend about assessing what could be healthy fluctuations in price versus an absolutely damning (yet avoidable) loss due to an impending downtrend. Image We all experience some anxiety when we enter a trade, and find that it immediately dips in price. These are the signals and indicators I use to determine entry/exit, normal/adverse trend behavior, and maintain my sanity while a share price ranges arbitrarily.
