On sentencing children who rape, kill and commit other horrible crimes.

We all wish it would never happen. But it does. (1/10) For years we have had a very strong presumption in the youth justice system that no child should held in secure accommodation. Numbers have plummeted.

But the assumption that every child will be better off ‘in the community’ is wrong and needs to be rethought. (2/10)
