Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs are rallying outside Smithers courthouse, calling on government to negotiate the long-awaited Delgamuukw agreement and disband CIRG.

Inside, crown says it will ask for up to 3 months jail time for Chief Dsta’hyl, Adam Gagnon. Image Two weeks ago, Chief Dsta'hyl was found guilty of criminal contempt as the judge ruled that Wet'suwet'en and Canadian law "cannot comfortably coexist" when it comes to trespass law vs. CGL injunction.

Coastal GasLink tried to deny access to media on Wet'suwet'en territory Friday.

A half dozen reporters accompanying hereditary chiefs were told — 50km+ from cell range — by CGL security to call its communications office if we wanted to join them in visiting the pipeline route... As we all flowed past CGL's gate and the security person, he told us we were "in breach of the injunction."

The fact we are three years in and the very people tasked with enforcing the injunction still don't understand it is concerning.

Great news: @UNBC faculty have a collective agreement after more than a decade. The turning point appears to have come with new interim president @GWPayne18, who has focused on improving relations between the board and @UNBCFA. My latest for @TheTyee. 1/6
