There’s been a lot of loud noise lately:
🔹“YieldMax is parasitic”
🔹“ROC is a scam”
🔹“Only fools chase high yield”
I get the emotion behind it ~ but most of it isn’t grounded in how these funds actually work.
🧵 This thread will cut through the noise and empower you to make thoughtful, informed choices ~ for you and the people you love.
[1/8] 👇
[2/8] – Growth vs. Income
It’s true: Over longer time horizons, strategies focused on capital appreciation ~ growth ~ generally outperform income-focused ones in total return.
But if you want or need income now, you're often forced to sell holdings to create it.
It’s also true: not everyone is optimizing for 30-year CAGR.
Some investors need or want income now ~ to:
• Cover monthly expenses
• Avoid selling assets
• Semi-retire earlier
• Fund other investments
• Care for aging parents or young kids
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
More importantly ~ this isn’t a binary choice. You can:
• Hold growth assets
• Stack $BTC
• Own rentals, REITs, or metals
• And still use covered call strategies for yield
Your portfolio should reflect your season, goals, and aspirations.
🚫 If someone calls you “dumb” for choosing income ~ they’re not helping. They’re projecting.
