Why were paragraphs omitted from Vande Mataram?

Because Jawaharlal Nehru himself explained to Jinnah that certain stanzas were “objectionable to Muslims.”

In a letter to Jinnah dated 25 October 1937, Nehru wrote that only the first two verses of Vande Mataram would be used because “the later portions contain certain allusions which might offend the susceptibilities of our Muslim friends.”

So, the national song that inspired millions during the freedom struggle was censored — not by the British, but by our own leaders, to appease communal sentiments.

This is the uncomfortable truth behind why we sing only two verses today.Image

Nehru’s own words on Vande Mataram

When questions were raised about omitting parts of Vande Mataram, Nehru didn’t hide the reason.

In his address to the Congress Working Committee in 1937, he said that while Vande Mataram had inspired countless freedom fighters, “some portions of the song are such as may not be in keeping with the sentiments of all communities in India.”

So, only the first two stanzas were retained — not for poetic or musical reasons, but to avoid “hurting religious feelings.”

Imagine that — the song that united India during the freedom struggle was later trimmed to fit the politics of appeasement.Image

Celebrating Tipu Jayanti is an affront to sensibilities of all Indians, including Muslims. His legacy is a blot.

Tipu was a barbarian, who inflicted untold miseries on the Kodavas in Coorg, the Syrian Christians in Mangalore, the Catholics, the Konkanis, the Nairs of Malabar… …the Mandyan Iyengars, who were hanged in hundreds on Diwali, due to which their descendants don’t celebrate the festival to this day. He broke innumerable temples and Churches, forcefully converted people to Islam. His sword had inscription to launch jihad against the infidels.

Are you sure of having read and understood the report? For a former FM to be embarrassing himself in public is not good.
1) Rate of poverty reduction in just 5 year period (2015-21, including COVID years) is 11.9% vs 8.1% during 10 years of Congress rule. Which is better?
(1/n) The said report of UNDP clearly praises the efforts of Prime Minister Modi’s government.

"multiple policy actions and schemes underpin the improved results in India", which were undertaken during the Modi Govt.

May be you read what suits you and nothing else registers.

The Congress-Left is using students as cannon fodder for their politics. Recent example is preying on the anxieties of JEE-NEET aspirants.
After the @DG_NTA put out details of the steps taken by the government, they have dumped the students in hurry and turned brazenly political. JEE:
- Out of 8,58,273 candidates, 6,49,223 have downloaded their admit cards.
- 99.07% candidates have been given the first choice of their preference.
- So far, only 120 candidates have requested for a change in centre cities allotted to them.

Manish Tewari’s letter to Facebook opens up a Pandora’s box.

Mr Tewari wrote a letter to Facebook management on 18th August, where he says that Facebook management can get in touch with his senior policy advisor Bharat Gopalaswamy in the USA. (1/n) This is a serious revelation and troublesome on multiple grounds.

Can Indian MPs hire lobbyists in US masquerading as advisors?

Whose interests do these US based lobbyists serve when they advise Congress MP Manish Tewari? (2/n)
