Here's what I learned from speaking to Strategy & Ops leaders across 30+ companies: At larger companies (e.g. Meta, Google, Amazon), S&O roles are more well-defined and narrowly scoped. Often, they're internal consulting-type roles, in support of sales or product teams.

At earlier stage companies, S&O roles can be similar to a Chief-of-Staff role.
