New paper!
Got the best news on the weekend: "Why hypothesis testers should spend less time testing hypotheses", by @LeonidTiokhin, @peder_isager, @lakens, and myself, has been accepted at Perspectives on Psychological Science. psyarxiv.com/vekpu
I'm chuffed! And nervous! The paper was completely unplanned and yet somehow inevitable -- developing and writing this was easily one of the most educational and fun experiences in my PhD.
Bear with me for the backstory of how that happened, or just read the paper 😉

New preprint!
Mitchell Schijen, @lakens, and I compared the rate of "positive" results (i.e., confirmed hypotheses) in Registered Reports to a sample of standard (non-RR) papers in psychology.
We found a *very* large difference. Thread... 1/ psyarxiv.com/p6e9c@RegReports were designed to minimise publication bias & QRPs -- so I've been wanting to see how they do on some indicators of pub bias for ages. (As @LeonidTiokhin finds in his cool new paper, even "annoying" side effects of RRs might be beneficial!
