1. No stupid romance angle. I wish more writers would have the courage not to shoehorn a romance into every movie.
2. No wasted dialog. Almost no exposition of Native American culture. It was much more realistic.
/13. The lead (Amber Midthunder) is a young, Native American girl who loves to hunt. They don’t waste time hyping up fake angst over this point. There’s a little chauvinism, but it’s subtle.
4. Focus. No “clever” sub-plots. There’s one plot, one goal, and they stick to it.
