Some thoughts on the Enoch Burke case as I woke up to a notification that immediately sent my blood boiling..🧵 This has been pointed out by other people but it obviously really needs to be hammered home. Enoch Burke has not been sent to jail for refusing to call a student their preferred pronoun, and reporting the story as such is not just misleading, but extremely harmful.

It includes Dolores Cahill, Andrew Kaufman and Vernon Coleman,among others.

Dolores Cahill is sharing claims that SM-102, an ingredient in the Moderna vaccine, is a 'deadly poison' by linking to dubious sources that can be easily misinterpreted. She is linking to the website of a biochemical manufacturing company that sells SM-102 as a research chemical. The product they sell is SM-102 mixed with chloroform. Chloroform is a toxic substance, therefore the safety information reflects this.

The rise in conspiratorial thinking during a pandemic is actually somewhat expected. Conspiratorial belief increases when people feel scared, angry or insecure, and the past year has certainly brought on those feelings in spades.. Conspiracy theories give people simple solutions to complicated situations,which the brain really likes. Political incompetence,inconsistent restrictions & complicated science can be easily explained if this is all part of an international plan to strip people of their rights

There is currently a highly organised campaign on Telegram to encourage business owners in Ireland & the UK to defy lockdown rules & open up. It’s the most coordinated campaign I’ve seen through the whole pandemic. 1/ 🧵 But not only is it very well organised, the content being shared is quite terrifying and a prime example of how toxic these movements are.
