Ok here is the story, without revealing details.

Last week, I got a call from a call centre that my policy with HDFCLife from 2012 had expired in 2013, since I didn't pay the annual premium in the 3rd year. She said the premium was Rs. 50000 per year and (1/n) I can get that 50k back. She gave me a number of Mr. X who is supposed to be some senior guy in the company. I called that number after 4 calls from her, just to find out what's going on.
