@dianaberrent @epadams The virus is a sphere with spikes covering its surface; on these spikes there is a tiny part that binds to human cell walls; that tip of the spike is covered with sugars called "glycans" which scientists refer to as "the glycan shield".... @dianaberrent @epadams With me so far? Right. So this "glycan shield" is incomplete on the spikes, meaning it doesn't completely shield the spikes from YOUR INCOMING T-CELLS which must physically interact with it in order to form antibodies....
