This is going to be a long one! But i could not believe my ears when I heard @KellyPowersBPA use Romans 14 to essentially say a man is free in Christ to Sodomise his wife, in a conversation with @Trent_Horn Kelly often defends “Sola Scriptura”, but respectfully he is not SS, he is Solo Scriptura.

For Kelly and many evangelicals, if you cannot find something VERBATIM in Scripture then it’s not “biblical”. That is not Sola Scriptura

Apostasy—the act of falling away from the faith, is a real and sobering reality in Scripture.

But how does Reformed theology reconcile apostasy with the doctrine of perseverance of the saints? 🧵👇 1/18 First, the Bible warns about apostasy:

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith…” 1 Tim. 4:1

“It is impossible… to restore them again to repentance.” Heb. 6:4-6

“They went out from us, but they were not of us…” 1 John 2:19 2/18

Evangelicalism is NOT Protestantism.

Many assume modern evangelicalism is simply “low-church Protestantism.” But the truth is, evangelicalism has very little in common with the Reformation

It does not fit the definition of Protestant Christianity

Heres why. 🧵👇 1️⃣ Protestantism is Confessional, Evangelicalism is Not

Protestantism was built on great confessions:
•Augsburg Confession (1530)
•Westminster Confession (1646)
•London Baptist Confession (1689)

These uphold sola Scriptura, sola fide, and covenant theology.

🧵Question of the NT canon: Based upon the scholarly work of Michael J Kruger 1/10: 📖 The Christian NT canon wasn't formed through arbitrary exclusion of books; it emerged through historical recognition of those books in use.
