I’ve talked to a number of congressional officials the past several days and this is far from over or even close. Pro-Russian elements within the Republican party are talking about employing various procedural tactics to delay or block the passage of the 🇺🇸🇺🇦 aid package.
Some examples include:
1. Filibustering: This tactic involves speaking for an extended period of time to prevent a vote on the aid package. By continuously speaking, the pro-Russian elements can delay the proceedings and impede progress.

Humbly asking my followers not to engage in demonizing 🇺🇸 or the administration because I genuinely believe it’s unproductive and will do irreparable harm to the 🇺🇦cause. There’s more productive ways to address your concerns. This is coming from a loving place and the desire for
a 🇺🇦 victory. Also, the belief that a Ukrainian victory is a victory for Americans. Demonizing 🇺🇸 and the administration will undoubtedly affect 🇺🇸 support for 🇺🇦 It will alienate Biden supporters, Americans who support 🇺🇦 and cause division in our pro-Ukraine community.

The police arrived at my house to tell me that my mother was dead. Since 2/13 my heart has been gutted. Whats kept me strong is all the love, and support from people like you! But also knowing how proud my Mom was of me because of all I did and do for Ukraine even though my
volunteer work kept us from being able to see each other as often as we would have liked. One of the last things she said to me, “If you don’t give up, then you’re never going to lose.”She was trying to comfort me while the Senate was debating the Ukraine bill.

A discharge petition allows a majority of the whole House to bring legislation to the floor, and would, in this fraught moment of political polarization, remind members of Congress that they may represent a district and a party, but they serve the entire country. 1/6
It is a tool to embolden Republicans who are not Trump loyalists or they do not want to the Trump campaign to decide foreign policy. Donald Trump would rather see Republicans nix aid to Ukraine so he can resume his bromance with Russian President Vladimir Putin. 2/6

I have been digging into the declassified Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) of Foreign Threats of the 2022 U.S. Elections. Coordinated across Intelligence Community, the assessment addresses intentions & efforts of foreign actors to influence/ interfere with U.S. elections.
Quite a bit is redacted (NAFO’s activities) but they do reference russia’s attempt to weaken US support for Ukraine (and the GOP is their fan club).
“Moscow incorporated themes designed to weaken US support for Ukraine into its propaganda, highlighting how election influence

While 3 of the 8 Republican members of Congress from Pennsylvania have been voting against funding to help stop Russia's invasion, data shows the Keystone State has received $2.364 billion - the most of any state - in spending and investments to build arms and ammunition for 🇺🇦
In Texas, 18 of the 25 Republican U.S. representatives have voted against Ukraine aid. At the same time, Texas has received $1.45 billion to produce 155 millimeter shells and other weapons.

Thread about why Russian frozen assets should be given to Ukraine. Here are a few points to consider:
1. Deterrence: By giving the frozen assets to Ukraine, it would send a strong message to Russia and act as a deterrent against further aggression. Russia's actions in Ukraine
have violated international norms, and returning frozen assets would demonstrate that such actions have consequences. It would also deter China.
2. Economy: Ukraine has faced significant economic challenges due to the conflict with Russia. The frozen assets could be used to

Wagner support FTO thread: The Wagner Group also known as PMC Wagner is a Russian paramilitary organization. It is variously described as a private military company (PMC), a network of mercenaries, or a de facto private army of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The group operates beyond the law in Russia, where private military contractors are officially forbidden.[50][51][49] While the Wagner Group itself is not ideologically driven,[52][53] various elements of Wagner have been linked to neo-Nazism and far-right extremism.

Reflecting back on this past year and sharing what we need to focus on to help Ukraine in the coming months and years. Ukraine is falling into a stalemate of sorts at a time when there’s a rising voice in U.S. that we’re sending too much money to Ukraine.
Biden Administration doubled down on that by visiting Kyiv and accusing Russia of crimes against humanity, (largely symbolic and has no legal ramifications) and POTUS as well as Vice President made remarks to that effect last week.

Andrew Peters, 28, joined the International Legion of Defense of Ukraine and was killed in action on February 16th. His parents released a statement, “Andrew had a strong sense of what was right and wrong. He felt the need to use his prior military combat skills to help the
Ukrainian people fight and liberate their country. Andrew was extremely close to his fellow soldiers and was well-liked by everyone. We are all extremely proud of his bravery and selfless sacrifice.” Peters served a tour in Afghanistan in 2014. He could speak Russian,

I wanted to learn more about the Ukrainian coat of arms – the trident, or tryzub – which has a long history (over a thousand years). It seemly appears to be a symbol of a modern country defending itself from a terrorist state but it’s history is connects us to today. Thread 1/11
It is short- spoken – meaningful. It reflects heroic events of the past – and it is a stripe of Ukrainian warriors protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine today. 2/11
