You want roughly two players per position? Covered in GK and defence. Then in midfield, possibly another defensive minded CM. Add to that, a winger. Otherwise, this team is more than good enough to survive.

This is what happens when…

- Your identity as a club becomes - do whatever it takes, just qualify for the Champions League
- Making money is prioritised over sporting success
- Leaders in the squad can't lead with performances on the pitch

- Pay them a wage that they wouldn't get elsewhere meaning it's much more difficult to be consequential with players when bad performances come
- Players are then able to turn up with a performance in the Champions League but not on a Saturday at Mainz

Last week I was part of the @FulhamSuppTrust monthly meeting with @FulhamFC. Plenty discussed [fulhamsupporterstrust.com/news/2018/10/1…] but more than a little worried by the club’s stance on ticket pricing. IMO it’s a priority issue at any club – as a fan what is more important than actually being able to watch the game for an affordable price?
