During Prophet Muhammed’s time, women participated in trade, public discourse, , and communal events. Women attended mosque and engaged in it especially during festivals and special occasions.

The East London Mosque is doing a Charity Run and has banned girls over the age of 12 and all women from participating.

I will never, ever get over the deeply ingrained misogyny within the Muslim community in the UK. It is everywhere and it is constant. It makes me miss home. Don’t preach to me about how Islam is anti-woman, because I grew up in a place in which women were always treated equally to men in the mosques. Most of their truckers are Bosnians who have either obtained legal citizenship OR are still on a legal permanent residency (green card). Anyway, ICE is kidnapping up truck drivers now. They’re not just kidnapping undocumented truck drivers but all truck drivers that either look or sound foreign, whether or not they are documented or undocumented. Whether or not they are legal residents or citizens. They’re kidnapping them and impounding the truck.

I started watching Love Island after the uproar over Huda’s “crash-out” (lol)…& what’s terrifying is how real-world issues have bled into reality TV. The racist, dehumanising abuse she’s faced mirrors the Western media and political hostility toward Palestinians. Meanwhile, all the girl really did is cry and react to a man that was love-bombing her in an intense manner. Everyone is screaming about holding her accountable because to them accountability is them being allowed to be as racist, as hateful, as dehumanising as they want to be.

I think there’s a genuine sort of desperation from pro-Israel ethnonationalists and their supporters that is quite clearly stemming from the fact that the majority of people on a global scale see the actions in Gaza as well as throughout Palestine as a genocide. I (and anyone who has spoken out against the genocide) have gotten hatred, abuse, harassment and rape & death threats since the very beginning and generally at some point it has subsided a bit.

Now, it is more rampant than ever before precisely b/c of that desperation.

Yes, they absolutely have. There is overwhelming evidence, including videos posted by IDF soldiers themselves, documenting these atrocities—not just in the past year, but for decades.

Eyewitness testimonies, survivor accounts, former IDF soldier confessions, and numerous documentaries all confirm that IDF soldiers consistently enter Palestinian homes, where they abuse, beat, rape, or execute residents. In many cases, they either take over the homes—imprisoning the Palestinian families inside with them—or forcibly expel them. Here are just a few more recent documented Incidents of Israeli atrocities against Palestinian children:

• Shooting of 13-Year-Old in Hebron: On February 21, 2025, 13-year-old Ayman Nassar al-Himouni was fatally shot by Israeli forces in the Jabal Jawhar area of Hebron.

• Killing of 11-Year-Old in Nablus: In October 2024, 11-year-old Abdullah Jamal Hawash was shot in the chest by Israeli soldiers.

• Death of 13-Year-Old in Qaryut: On September 6, 2024, 13-year-old Banah Laboum was killed by a gunshot while in her bedroom as Israeli settlers set upon her village.

& these are the ones that were committed outside of Gaza.

I have something problematic to admit. Since I’ve been sick, I’ve read both the Lively Complaint and the subsequent lawsuits by Baldoni, I then watched the video and as I have friends & a husband who work in the film industry I really think this is a case of a Hollywood girlie flexing her power & nothing to do w/ SH. The video really cemented for me the suspicions I had on the Bladoni/Lively case since the outset because it is clear that Blake Lively struggled immensely with separating herself from her character and she’s not a really good actress at the best of times.

Now that a ceasefire has been agreed to and there is a semblance of hope that at the very least the daily massacres inflicted upon the Palestinians will stop I want to reiterate what an utter disgrace and disappointment the vast majority of “genocide education” orgs have been. Entire museums, educational organisations, and organisations created to commemorate genocides from The Holocaust to Bosnia to Sudan stayed quiet as a genocide was unfolding before our very eyes.

When I was a child and many of my family members were “missing”, I’d tell myself that they were fine. They got lost somewhere in all the mess. Maybe they just got hurt and bumped their head, losing their memory. So they must’ve left the country as refugees and one day their memories would return and they’d come back to us.

I’d say that about my grandfather especially and then we found his remains in 2001. Almost 10 years after he was killed, his head cut off and his body thrown in the Drina river only to end up somewhere buried.

When they uncovered his remains, the family did the DNA testing and it was my father and my great-aunt who recognised his remains. His plaid shirt. The little Quran he always carried in his pocket.

Of all the family members that were “missing”, we have only ever found the remains of him.

They ensured it required difficult-to-prove “intent” in order to shield themselves from accountability for their colonial actions and the atrocities committed against their subjects, including crimes committed during slavery.

This deliberate watering-down of Lemkin’s broader framework was designed to protect colonial states from being held responsible for the systemic destruction of Indigenous peoples, cultures, and societies—acts that would clearly qualify as genocide under a sociological or Lemkinian framework.

Quite literally, the rigid and conservative definition of genocide in international law exists to protect the colonial overlords from legal consequences. It prioritises state impunity over justice for victims of historical and ongoing colonial violence, perpetuating systems of power and exploitation.

The older I get, the more I not only loathe nationalism but patriotism as a whole. I’ve been a community organiser for a long time and in that time have had a great many elders call me a “Bosniak Patriot” except I am not.

Patriotism is nationalism less unnerving cousin. Ultimately as much as I love many things about Bosnia, as much as I adore its mountains, lakes, rivers, cities, towns, villages, and the tiny coastline…I could’ve just as easily been born in Rwanda or Armenia or Palestine or the USA. At some point, I began to feel deeply insulted when I shared aspects of my culture with my non-Balkan friends and family, and they did not enjoy them. Whether it was a song, a movie, a dish, a cake, or coffee, their lack of enthusiasm felt like a personal slight against me. However, upon reflection, I realized that this reaction stemmed from an emotional connection to my cultural identity. I had to remind myself that many cultural elements, such as specific foods or artistic expressions, are often acquired tastes. Just because I love them does not necessarily mean my friends will share the same appreciation.

The Fourth Geneva Convention explicitly prohibits the transfer of an occupying power’s civilian population into occupied territories, a practice already deemed illegal by the International Court of Justice in the context of West Bank settlements.

Germany’s failure to fully implement a meaningful process of denazification and re-education after World War II has left enduring legacies that continue to shape its political and social policies. This incomplete reckoning with its fascist past directly influences its unwavering support for Israel, including providing weapons, funding, and political backing in the face of clear evidence of apartheid, war crimes, and genocide in Gaza. These actions, framed as a moral obligation rooted in Holocaust guilt, expose a performative and shallow understanding of accountability that avoids reckoning with ongoing complicity in systemic violence. The early post-war denazification process was limited and compromised. While top Nazi officials were prosecuted, millions of lower-level Nazis were reintegrated into society and were even reinstated into positions of power in West Germany’s judiciary, intelligence services, and political structures. This pragmatic approach, driven by Cold War priorities and the need for rapid stabilization, left intact many of the ideological and structural hierarchies of the Third Reich. As a result, authoritarianism and hierarchical worldviews persisted, creating a fertile ground for the resurgence of fascist ideologies in contemporary Germany.
