Records never defined who is best or greatest in football. The goat debate always has been based on performance.
Almost noone knows J. Bican, the man with most official career goals (805).
Is Ali Daei, the man with most NT goals in a list of best 100 players ever?
1/ For about 40 years G. Müller held the record for most goals in a calendar year and for most WC goals. Did anybody say he is the goat?
Does Maradona have any record? Probably not. Yet when talking about goat, for many years he was one of only two players who came to mind.

Not only Messi has suffered big defeits. His problem is he played so many big games. (!!!)
