DeviantArt has decided your artwork there is fair game to be used in their new AI generator by default. You have to go to an obscure form to opt-out and requires 10 days to be reviewed.
I am beyond frustrated with them and the timing of this. If you would like to opt-out, the form is here docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

The BBC article about AI image generators I was interviewed for is up. The founder of Stable Diffusion comes across like a real asshole here. The guy just genuinely doesn’t understand artists.

✨New Pinned Tweet✨
I'm RJ and I'm a creature designer concept artist. You may have seen my work in Detective Pikachu or somewhere online. I also really like dinosaurs.
Last night one of the AI developers behind that project that was ripping off living artists’ styles sent me a bunch of DMs(mostly omitted for length). He blocked me immediately after I responded and called me a moralist because I care about artists rights lol
The image sets these AI are trained on need to be public facing and opt in only. The onus needs to be on the AI devs to ethically source the images they train them with, not on the artists to keep cutting the head off the endless AI hydra appropriating our work.

A new AI image generator appears to be capable of making art that looks 100% human made. As an artist I am extremely concerned.
What makes this AI different is that it's explicitly trained on current working artists. You can see below that the AI generated image(left) even tried to recreate the artist's logo of the artist it ripped off.
This thing wants our jobs, its actively anti-artist.

Cool new scam artists should be aware of. Any rando can now turn your tweet and by extension, your artwork into an NFT by tagging this account @/tokenizedtweets
Block this guy
For those that dont know: An NFT is basically a unique bitcoin with an image attached, a tweet in this case. They can be sold and resold by speculators hoping to make money.
Now people can sell your tweets all without your permission.
