This one is personal & encapsulates all that is wrong with India's gotcha media scene.
I have been collaborating with @civilhospamd for 12 years. I know a bit about the place, its culture and ethics.
@USCIRF called no one before tweeting. I investigated. What I found (thread):
After @IndianExpress's @thanda_ghosh's report, I called several physicians at the hospital. No one had heard of segregating patients-has NEVER been done.
@civilhospamd is staffed by several Hindu/Muslim physicians, nurses, orderlies. Separating by religion is unheard of (2)
One line of attack is that @TulsiGabbard must be assigned an origin myth at all, and if one is assigned—it is rooted in a cult that seeks legitimacy as Hindu. Or that “Indian Americans [are] taken by her professed Hinduism.” This implies a Hinduism test for non-Indians.
