it’s hard to put my thoughts & feelings into words... just as it was 4.5 years ago. i lost one of my best friends in Deah, & no sentencing or worldly attempt at justice can rectify what was a fundamentally unjust act. #OurThreeWinners that being said, the heaviness & numbness upon my heart that i, as well as so many others who were touched by #OurThreeWinners- the pieces of shattered glass that are & will continue to make mosaics (@Mohammad_Moussa)- pales in comparison to the torment their families face.

a 10-year old boy came into clinic last week with symptoms of an upper respiratory infection. i brought him in the back, took his vitals; his parents accompanied him. his dad came with him. he was a tall man, about 6'5". he had a massive jaw and huge hands. the father & i get to talking after his son's flu test came back negative. he said he's had to change his shoe a few times over the last 10 years. his hats don't fit him anymore. had to resize his watches. with all the symptoms he described, i decide to run some labs.
