at this point it's common knowledge that in the grand scheme of things, thomas metaphorically represents penelope, and flint represents odysseus. it takes odysseus ten years to come back to penelope, it takes james ten years to find his way back to thomas. this thread is how✨ I know we all know this, but I just want to reiterate the concept because every time I think about it I feel like I am going insane. so, indulge me, please. because, guess what, this parallel is yet another hint that thomas is alive at the end of black sails, and so is flint!
