I run @ProPublica’s Nonprofit Explorer, so I spend a lot of time with tax-exempt organization data.
But there’s a large group of these organizations for which we don’t get any data, because they aren’t required to submit tax returns: Churches. propublica.org/article/family…
So when a source sent a document showing that the IRS had reclassified the Family Research Council, a right-wing policy think tank that opposes abortion and LGBTQ rights, as an “association of churches,” I wanted to know more.

Over the weekend, the total number of tests on Vermont's its COVID-19 dashboard *dropped* by about 1,500, from 23,205 to 22,276.
Why? @healthvermont
says those totals used to include serology testing; they no longer do.

Why does that make sense? Because if you test positive for antibodies, you don't get counted as an active case, but prior to May 16th, your test *would* have gotten counted in the total number of tests.
