The Georgia Secretary of State launched a new website that allows for online cancellation of Georgia voter registration.

@GASenateDems said in a tweet, “This tool empowers conspiracy theorists and other bad actors to deny Georgians the right to vote.”

The Atlanta Solidarity Fund announced Friday that it will no longer operate as a bail fund in light of Georgia enacting SB 63. The solidarity fund said it will continue to offer legal and other support to arrestees.

atlsolidarity.org/our-response-t… In addition, the solidarity fund said that “an independent fund has been established to which we have granted almost all of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund’s previously contributed donations (over $1M).”

The new fund will pay bail bondsmen to bail out protesters.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—A protester self immolated outside the International Drive entrance to the Israeli Embassy, in D.C. Sunday afternoon.

The protester self identified as an active duty member of the United States Air Force and said “I will be no longer complicit in genocide.” In a live stream video, the protester stated, “I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it is not extreme at all.”

BREAKING: A group of Stop Cop City activists have broken onto the training center site to attempt to halt construction work.

They are calling this “The People’s Injunction” A banner reads “the people’s injunction to stop cop city” held up in front of a construction site. Five people are visible setting up the signage for their protest. An activist account is live streaming the protest from outside the construction site. Meanwhile a group have chained themselves to construction equipment inside.

The Solidarity Fund provides legal defense and bail support for first amendment protected activities in Atlanta and the surrounding area. Police Raiding the Teardown... ASF provides jail support to ensure those in police custody have their rights protected and intact during the legal process. The group also provides cash bail assistance to those who are unable to pay the unconscionable bonds set by the courts.

March 5 arrestee bond hearings live tweets: John Fowler for the state is laying out a set of claims on behalf of the state. He is tying the forest defenders to groups existing all the way back to 2019. Fowler says that Forest Defenders are a well-funded group with millions of dollars hiding behind 501c3 non-profit organizations. Inspired by @SobSax let’s take a minute to draw a through line from the 1988 Democratic National Convention to the 2024 convention. Along the way we’ll stop by the Old Atlanta Prison Farm, the Olympics, the Defend the Forest Movement, and GA Domestic Terrorism Law. In 1988 Atlanta hosted the Democratic Convention.

Led by a group called “Operation Rescue” Anti-abortion activists flocked to the ATL for the convention and remained for months after protesting at clinics around the city.

Over 1,100 people were arrested during the campaign.

On Monday, APD Chief Darin Schierbaum told city council that APD was here to protect the first amendment rights of people who peacefully protest. The actions of APD over the last two days tell a different story. Yesterday activists marched through downtown stopping at the Georgia Pacific Building, AT&T, and GSU to call each out for its role in policing. All along the way the march was pinned against the sidewalk by rifle carrying police officers.

Yesterday @JohnRuchAtlanta reported that CSAC member Amy Taylor filed an appeal against the issuance of Cop City's Land Disturbance Permit on the grounds that the site would see illegal amount of runoff, and APF overstated the green space set aside
Taylor's appeal comes just weeks after the death of Tortuguita, which prompted now former CSAC member Nicole Morado to sever ties with the committee. Morado told Ruch, "it doesn’t feel fair in my conscious to be with a group with a group that has that kind of activity going on.”
