The better we become at attuning to our bodies, the more our bodies may ask us to attune to.

This is often a sign that we are actually doing a good job of listening. In a way our bodies want to keep the conversations going—they want us to know where we feel safe vs unsafe (for example).

Not wanting people to have to be resilient, is not the same as not wanting people to be resilient.

In my experience, especially with trauma survivors, there is often a grief that requires tending as we honor *why* a certain kind of strength was required in the first place.

If you have a history of trauma, a gentle reminder that this level of intensity in the world can make it easier to move out of your window of tolerance + into dissociation or collapse.

Pls be extra aware of your body + as you’re able find ways to mobilize energy (see below) For example, it’s always helpful to get grounded in the space you are in using five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, own thing you can touch.

A Blessing for One Who has
Suffered Abuse:

Dear one, as you survey the minefield of your life—you may feel that you no longer belong to yourself. At times you question your reality and whether the one(s) who have harmed you are somehow in the right.

As days pass, you may find the cold grasp of deceit, harm, + gaslighting seem to clench your heart + hope shut.

At times your anger seethes, but there is nowhere to place it.

And in the still of the night, you wonder if it will ever get better.
