I’ve spent the last few years studying AI

Like you, I heard of LLMs, GPT, Agents, ML, but wanted a full picture that connected the dots

Here’s a first principles primer on AI, its history and what is really happening today: Before we dive in, we need to first define intelligence

I like Max Tegmark’s definition:

“Intelligence is the ability to achieve complex goals”

This definition will be important because every AI system is fundamentally achieving a complex goal

One of the biggest things I hear that constraints talented individuals is the “fear of failure”

But what it is it truly? A thread. I was talking to my very talented friend who is applying for business schools in the US.

She said “what if I don’t get in? What if the effort is not worth it?”

“Will I have wasted so many months? What will I have to show for it”

If BSchool is not treated as a placement office, you can learn a lot.

I learnt to enjoy economics, game theory, consumer behaviour, and finance all because of a great BSchool experience.

It's "disruptive" to write off the MBA as a waste but it can be transformative if used well Philosophically, education should be free, although ironically some teachings are "priceless"

People try to "map" the cost of an MBA to the "job" they get. Truly measuring RoI for your education is fuzzy.

You never know where your learning might help you.

Amul isn’t a legacy, 60 year old brand but a disruptive innovator with a unique model solving purpose and profit.

A thread from the story and podcast on ajuniorvc.com/amul-story-mil… 👇 Amul was a startup trying to challenge the monopoly Poulson’s exploitative farmer practices.

Kurien, Patel and Dalaya would use brand, farmers and tech to ignite a new movement - cooperation, in the 1950s.

Anand Milk Union Limited, aka AMUL was born.
