The Supreme Court voted 5-4 to allow the Texas abortion law to go into effect. So if Democrats had been able to fill Scalia's seat in 2016 or held Ginsburg's seat open for a few more months (or if she had lived a bit longer), this would have been a different outcome. Or, you know, if Hillary Clinton had won, we'd be talking about a liberal super-majority on the court right now. 2016 is going to go down in the history books as a pivotal year in US history.
